ARTWORK
CAN I FRAME THESE PRINTS MYSELF?
Technically yes. However, the only presentation that has a removable print are the framed and mounted prints. Our frames and mounts are very high quality, using conservation grade mounts and hand-stained solid ash-wood frames finished with a specialist wax to accentuate the grain, they're then mounted behind our revolutionary anti-reflective "moth-eye" glaze. It would be a shame to lose such a high quality product crafted with amazing workmanship.
CAN I MAKE ANY CUSTOMISATIONS TO THE FRAME FOR A SMALL FEE?
Unfortunately we are unable to make any customisations at this time.
WHAT ARE YOUR FRAMES MADE FROM?
The frames for our mounted and framed prints are hand made from quality solid Ash wood, milled with simple clean lines and presented with a satin finish. The professional artist stretcher bars used for the inner frames on our stretched framed canvas is made using 38mm solid knotless wood, the outer floating frame is handmade by specialist canvas framers using 53mm deep solid Ash wood. It's also worth noting that all frames are made from FSC certified wood, ensuring a long-lasting and high-quality product.
WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR HANGING HARDWARE?
Each of our frames comes ready to hang with wall fixings that make for easy hanging. Depending on your wall we recommend using screws for our smaller sizes and an anchor for our two largest sizes.
ARE ANY OF YOUR PRINTS SIGNED OR NUMBERED?
On occasion we release signed and numbered editions that often sell out immediately. The best way to stay informed is by signing up for our newsletter.
ARE YOUR PRINTS GLOSSY OR MATTE IN FINISH?
All of our prints that arrive within the mounted and framed presentations are printed on slightly textured, museum-quality paper with a heavy 250 gsm/ 110 lb paper weight, perfect for fine art, designed to last for years without losing its original beauty. Our matte paper is uncoated and natural white (off-white). With alkaline paper-making technology, this paper is acid-free, meaning the pH of the pulp that is used to form the paper is above 7 (neutral). The paper is also buffered with an alkaline reserve, such as calcium carbonate, to neutralise acid compounds absorbed from the atmosphere or formed through natural ageing. This ensures that your print will last many years without any yellowing or discolouration. Our print is free from, or low in OBA (optical brightener additives). This ensures that the natural white colour of the paper remains consistent under different lighting conditions. In contrast, the colour of papers that contain optical brighteners can shift depending on the light source. Additionally, the color of OBA-free paper remains more consistent over time so that you can enjoy the artwork for years without any shifts. We also use FSC-certified paper or equivalent certifications depending on availability. It’s better for the people and the planet.
DO YOU USE GLASS OR ACRYLIC FOR YOUR FRAMED ART?
At MiaVitti, we prioritise the preservation and presentation of our artwork with the utmost care and consideration. That's why we exclusively use high-quality glass for our framed art pieces. While acrylic may be an alternative option for some, we believe that glass offers unparalleled clarity and longevity, ensuring that your artwork maintains its vibrancy and beauty for years to come.
Glass provides a crystal-clear viewing experience, allowing you to fully appreciate the intricate details and colours of each piece. Additionally, glass is less prone to scratching and yellowing compared to acrylic, guaranteeing that your artwork remains pristine over time.
By choosing glass for our framed artwork prints, we uphold our commitment to delivering exceptional quality and craftsmanship, ensuring that your investment brings joy and inspiration for generations to come.
